High and lifted,
Recycled materials,
It only makes sense,
a lifelong of flooring walked on,
where slip slides and secret lies.
I couldn’t decide
whether to do 100% recycled plastic
or a combination of old flooring.
I let Eugene figure it out –
I just said, “Make it bright.”
The general contractors eventually got over
taking orders for an AI.
In every room, I had to consider the bots,
the floor-cleaning ones.
Sure, my bots have the best mapping
and navigating capabilities.
They have the latest upgraded sensors
and sophisticated algorithms,
but the most efficient cleaning mechanism
is to consider the bot in the first place.
Midnight comes so fast.
At this point, there is no point
in not making used things anew.
There is enough plastic in the world
to recycle from trash to homes.
There is no point – it makes no sense –
to save the planet without saving the people.
(Another story for another poem.)
I am talking about my home – sustainable and self-cleaning.
People said it was impossible.
I may have been considered crazy – I don’t care.
Make old things anew and self-sufficient.
